Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, launched in 2015, emerged as a response to deeply ingrained gender bias reflected in India’s falling sex ratio and persistent educational dropouts among girls. A decade later, data shows improvements in birth ratios, schooling, and maternal health, even as structural barriers continue to limit women’s long-term educational and economic empowerment.
