Ladakh has scrapped a controversial service rule that prevented qualified government employees from applying to higher posts. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena termed the provision restrictive, as it forced employees to deny higher qualifications through affidavits. The move, effective immediately, allows all eligible staff to compete for graduate-level positions, widening career opportunities.
