Pay up Rs 15L: 208 medicos get notice for skipping rural service

As many as 208 MBBS students in Karnataka have been served notices and face a Rs 15 lakh penalty each for failing to register for mandatory one-year rural service. Many students reportedly prefer to use this year to prepare for NEET-PG for specialization, as an MBBS without further specialization is seen as less lucrative.
