A growing number of Chinese students are returning home after studying abroad, driven by tightening visa restrictions, shrinking overseas job opportunities, and structured domestic support. In 2024, nearly 4.95 lakh students returned, bringing global skills to China’s research, technology, and education sectors. While their expertise is highly valued, the influx also adds pressure to an already competitive domestic job market.
